Model Releases Explained | Las Vegas Boudoir Photographer

A woman wearing a red piece of lingerie is lying face down on a bed, pushing her backside and feet toward the sky in a sensual pose.

The first rule in boudoir photography around here is consent. Above all else, it’s so important to me to make sure you feel confident and taken care of – not just during your session, but after it, too! When you sign your contract to work with me, you get to pick what level of model release you’re comfy with. So, here’s a quick explainer on the different kinds of model releases available to you!

First of all, what’s a model release?

A model release is a clause built into my contract that allows you to determine the types of photos (if any) I’m allowed to share online of you! This would include social media and my website, for example. I have three options for my clients when signing their contract:

Full Release

If selected, this level of release allows me to use anything and everything from your session. This means that your identifying features (like your face or tattoos) will be visible on posts, so technically, someone may recognize you. Most clients who work in the public eye, like lawyers or doctors, do not opt for this level of release, as they prefer to keep their boudoir photos private. As a side note, even if you give me a full release for your images, I’ll never show anything lewd online. Boudoir is about art and appreciating the self, not making OnlyFans content haha.

Partial Release

This is the perfect middle ground of model releases. Let’s say you absolutely love your boudoir experience, but you want some plausible deniability, or maybe you want to keep your boudoir photos as a surprise for your partner. This is the option for you! Basically, this allows me to post images that don’t identify you. So the only people in the world who would know are you and me! In some cases, I’ll even photoshop your tattoos out to keep your identity private.

No Release

This means that your boudoir photos are yours and yours alone! I won’t post anything from your session, and you don’t even have to tell me why. Of course, I want to show you off, but if you’re not comfortable with your photos being out there, there are no questions asked!

What if I want to change my level of release later?

Just let me know! I have an online system that keeps track of this for me, so at any point if you want to update your level of release, just shoot me an email and we’ll be good to go!
