The 6 Best Boudoir Stretches to Prepare for your Session

You wouldn’t think stretching is a super important part of preparing for your session. Until its the next day, and you feel like you’ve put your body through a 6 hour workout! Stretching is highly underrated and very important! There’s so many free yoga resources online that can help you best, but I wanted to include some of my own insight based on the poses I might put you in while you’re in the studio!

I’ve written so much these last two months about self care, and some boudoir stretches should be included into your routine.

Here are 6 Boudoir Stretches I recommend:

1. Cat-cow: helps loosen the back before your session

2. Pigeon pose: make sure to practice on both sides of your body, it loosens your hips and IT band.

3. Spinal twist: twist to both sides of your body to loosen the lower back for all the arching!

4. Child's pose: helps with relaxation and increasing hip flexibility

5. Downward dog / cobra: it will help to loosen the back and strengthen your arms.

6. Ankle circles: might not seem as obvious, but we do a lot of ballet-toe-pointing in boudoir, so these can really help you!

I hope these boudoir stretches gave you inspiration to prepare for your next shoot!
